O.R. Tambo Memorial Wall Unveiling
The late O. R. Tambo attended St Martins School – which at the time was called St Peters. As a school, we wish to encourage and teach our students to follow his values. Earlier today, Trustees from the Oliver & Adelaide Tambo Foundation joined us at the Prep School to unveil the O. R. Tambo memorial wall. CEO of the Tambo Foundation, Zengeziwe Msimang spoke of how Oliver Tambo meant the world to her – and an entire generation of people who can remember what it was like to live during apartheid.
“The words that you will be walking past every day represent the values for which Oliver Tambo stood. These are values that as a Foundation, we want future generations to embrace and to live by. Honesty. Respect. Selflessness and Courage. These are the values that freed a nation and have the potential to unlock endless opportunities for future generations.”
Undeterred by the rain, Duma Nkosi, Chairman of the Foundation, and Tambo’s grandson, Dante, cut the ribbon to officially unveil the memorial wall located at the Prep School.
