St Martin’s Youth Day Festival 2024: A Celebration of Unity and Sport

On the 7th and 8th of June 2024, St Martin’s School in Johannesburg South came alive with vibrant energy as the second annual Youth Day Sports Festival took place. This event celebrated Youth Day and the power of sport to bring people together, with the theme highlighting how sport fosters unity across South Africa.
Sponsored by Standard Bank, the festival attracted students, families, and local supporters for two days of exciting competitions and festivities.
A Packed Schedule of Activities
This year’s festival featured a variety of activities, including:
- Soccer matches showcasing both boys' and girls' teams.
- Netball games filled with energy and determination.
- Chess tournaments, emphasizing strategic thinking and focus.
For those unable to attend in person, the matches were streamed live on the SuperSport Schools App, allowing supporters from across the country to cheer on their teams remotely.

- Spot Prizes: Exceptional performers in soccer, netball, and chess were rewarded with exciting spot prizes.
- Delicious Food & Refreshments: Families enjoyed pizzas, chips, and boerewors rolls, keeping everyone energized for the day’s activities.
