The Mini Cycle Challenge
The Mini Cycle Challenge on Saturday, 27 July was a fantastic opportunity for our community to unite and enjoy time outdoors with family and friends.
The young riders were categorized according to their riding ability, with options for tortoise, hares, and cheetahs to compete. The event was open to members of the Foundation Phase, Prep and Pre-Prep classes, as well as children from visiting schools.
One of the highlights of the Mini Cycle Challenge was the route markers placed along the way. These markers guided the children through various interesting and imaginative locations, adding an element of adventure to the challenge. Along the route, riders encountered enchanting places such as "Happy Hill," where smiles and laughter were abundant. "Colourful Corner" was a vibrant spot that brightened everyone's mood, while the "Peaceful Pathway" offered a serene respite during the ride.
As the children pedaled further, they found themselves passing through "Busy Bubbles," where the atmosphere was filled with bubbly excitement. "Delicate Doorway" led them into a world of wonder and curiosity, while "Checkmate Valley" sparked their strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. "Bouncy Bricks" brought an element of playfulness to the course, with riders bouncing along the path with lots of giggling.
The journey continued through "Rolly Alley," where the riders felt the thrill of rolling downhill. "In the Forest" transported them into a magical woodland filled with adventure, while "Greasy Grass" presented an enjoyable challenge, testing their balance and control. "Troublesome Tarmac" was a section that required focus and determination, and the brave participants tackled it with enthusiasm. Finally, the riders reached the "Daredevil Driveway," where they displayed their skills and fearlessness.
The St Martin's Mini Cycle Challenge was a great success. It was heartwarming to see the camaraderie and support among the young riders as they encouraged and cheered each other on. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy the outdoors, challenge themselves physically, and develop their cycling abilities.
The highlight for the children was that all participants received a medal.
Huge thanks go to the organizers, teachers and volunteers who made the event possible. Their dedication and hard work ensured the smooth running of the Mini Cycle Challenge. The children, parents, and teachers alike were grateful for the fantastic experience provided.
